Fort Worth Soil Conditions

Fort Worth, along with Dallas, Houston, and Corpus Christi is one of the cities with the highest demand for foundation repair in Texas. Fort Worth has very rocky soil with shallow bedrock and is composed of mostly silty clay, silty loam, and gravely soil. Fort Worth is slightly more stable than Dallas with more rocky areas and slightly less plasticity in its soil, but it is still one of the areas most prone to soils that shift due to weather or moisture induced swelling and shrinking.

If you would like to take a detailed look at the soil in your neighbourhood, consider looking at the United States Department of Agriculture's Soil Survey Tool. It can give you an in-depth look at exactly what type of soil your home sits on and the characteristics one can expect from soils of that type.

For your convenience, we have compiled a tutorial on how to use the Soil Survey Tool which you can read by clicking here.

Please note that we are unable to provide free estimates for Fort Worth and the western DFW Metroplex. While our services are availible in these areas, a small fee may be charged depending on the exact travel distance.
